How booking, deposits, cancellations, and payment work before we start.
Terms of service
Last updated: October 19, 2026
Clear rules before we start the job.
These terms cover how Rotes & Roses takes booking requests, holds appointments, handles weather and shop-side moves, prepares your vehicle, accepts payment, and handles problems if something goes wrong. They match what we already say on the FAQ and booking pages. By booking, requesting a quote, or letting us work on your vehicle, you agree to these terms. How we handle personal information is on the Privacy page.
Booking requests vs confirmed appointments
We review every appointment before confirming, and requests need at least one day’s notice. Your selected time is a request until we confirm. Once locked in, the appointment is held under the deposit rules below.
Overnight service
Work after our 7 PM close and before opening (7 AM on weekdays, 9 AM on weekends) is available by request. The first hour, 7 to 8 PM, has no extra charge. After 8 PM, a 25% premium applies to the package and any add-ons, rising to 35% for time between 1 and 6 AM. The premium is prorated by the minute and shown in the booking total before you send your request.
Deposit
A flat $50 deposit holds the appointment and applies to the final balance.
Cancel or reschedule
Cancel or reschedule with 24+ hours’ notice and the deposit is refunded; otherwise it is non-refundable. If weather or other events outside our control force a move, we reschedule. The deposit is not refunded; it keeps your dedicated spot on the new time.
Repeated reschedules
If the same booking is rescheduled more than three times, we may require payment in advance (or refuse further holds) before locking another time. We may also refuse future service or require payment in full before another booking if cancel, payment, or scheduling terms are not respected.
Weather and site conditions
Light weather can sometimes be managed. Strong rain or direct sun can compromise products and results. When conditions are not safe for the service, we reschedule or require suitable cover. You agree to provide a safe place to work with room around the vehicle, and to flag garage access, HOA rules, and runoff limits when you book.
Work area
Keep 10 to 15 feet from the active work area (hoses, cords, chemicals, and spray). Get our attention from a distance if you need us. You may leave the site after leaving keys. Standing next to the work zone or watching from a lawn chair in the spray path is not allowed.
Personal belongings
Please remove personal items (including money and valuables) before we arrive. Any compartments, pockets, consoles, or cargo areas still holding belongings will be left as they are. We do not move or dig through personal items to clean underneath them. Those areas stay untouched and are not cleaned while belongings remain in place.
We remove child seats but don't reinstall them. Putting the seat back and securing it correctly is your responsibility. If a seat stays in the vehicle, we clean around it and cannot promise full results under or around it.
Pricing
Listed prices arestarting points. The final price is subject to change (including an increase) based on the vehicle’s condition when we arrive (dirt and grime load, stains, access, size, and the finish you asked for). We confirm any adjusted price with you before we start. On an Express, pet hair is an add-on of $40 (light), $65 (medium), or $90 (heavy). On an Executive, light pet hair is covered, medium is $25, and heavy is $55. Trash removal carries a surcharge of $20 or $45, depending on the amount. Mention it when you book.
Returning-customer discount: 15% within 3 months of your last detail, 10% within 6 months. Multi-car discount on one-time details: 10% off each car after the first, capped at 10%. Maintenance plans are priced separately. Their only discount is 5% off each additional vehicle on the same plan, and it does not stack with the returning-customer discount.
For one-time details only (not maintenance visits), the returning-customer and multi-car discounts can combine. Discounts stack by taking half of the larger one and adding it to the smaller one. Example: a returning customer within 3 months booking 2 cars gets 15% off the first car and 17.5% off the second.
Scope of work
Before we start, you confirm the package and what is included and not included (on the invoice, Jobber estimate, or a short scope note). Work outside that scope is extra and needs your OK first.
Condition disclosure
Tell us before booking, and again if it changes, about heavy stains, pet hair, sand, trash, foul odors, biological waste, chemical spills or overspray, or other hazardous materials. Quotes can change after we see the vehicle in person.
If we reasonably believe hazardous conditions were hidden, we may stop work, charge a partial or full amount for time and materials already committed (including the deposit rules that apply), and leave.
Payment
Most payment methods are accepted aside from personal checks. The deposit applies to the final balance once the price is confirmed.
Service area and model
We are a mobile shop based in Escondido, serving North County San Diego by appointment. Work is performed at your driveway, office, garage, or another agreed location. Courtesy auto-care checks included with car visits are visual and non-diagnostic. They do not replace scheduled maintenance or a professional mechanical inspection.
Permission to book
By booking, you confirm that you own the vehicle or have the owner’s permission to have it serviced, and that you have the right to let us work at the service location.
Vehicle condition and pre-existing issues
We look over your vehicle before we start and note visible damage. We are not responsible for conditions that were already there or that cleaning reveals, including failing or thin clear coat, oxidation, rock chips, scratches deeper than the clear coat, prior paint or body repair, loose or brittle trim and emblems, cracked or worn interior materials, aftermarket parts, wraps and film, and existing electrical or mechanical problems.
Detailing is cleaning and surface care, not body, paint, or mechanical restoration. Heavily soiled or failing parts may not fully recover. That includes worn or missing markings on dash and steering buttons or knobs, headliner glue release or sagging from aggressive cleaning, etched paint or clear coat from bird droppings, sap, or tar, and baked-on brake dust that cleaning cannot fully remove. Some of those need separate restoration or replacement.
Paint correction removes defects in the clear coat. It cannot fix damage that goes through the clear coat, and some marks can only be reduced. Heavy stains, odors, and pet hair can be improved but not always removed. We tell you before we start if we expect a limit like this on your vehicle.
Before and after photos
We photograph and video every vehicle before, during, and after service to record its condition and our work. We use these records to review any problem you report.
We may also show images of your vehicle on our website and social media. We hide license plates and do not show your face, home, or house number without your permission. If you do not want your vehicle shown, tell us when you book or anytime after, and we will stop using those images going forward.
Report any problem with our work or your vehicle within 48 hours after your service ends. Text, call, or email us with photos. Please do not have the vehicle worked on elsewhere before we inspect it, unless it is unsafe to drive.
Ceramic coating cure issues, such as high spots or streaking that show up as the coating cures, can be reported within 48 hours of first appearing, up to 7 days after the service.
We review every report against our before and after records. Reports made outside these windows are hard to verify, and we may decline them.
Damage we cause
If our work damages your vehicle and you report it within the window above, we will inspect it. If we caused the damage, we will repair it, have it repaired at a shop we choose, or pay the reasonable cost of repair. We choose which option. We are not responsible for damage from the pre-existing conditions listed above, from parts or finishes that were already failing, or from anything that happens after we leave.
Warranties
Warranty length is the one listed for your package and confirmed on your invoice. A product warranty covers how the product performs. It does not cover new damage from accidents, road debris, improper washing, harsh chemicals, or skipped care steps we give you after the service.
Texts, calls, and email
When you book or request a quote, we may call, text, or email you about that request, your appointment, payment, and warranty follow-up. We send those texts ourselves or through our scheduling system, Jobber, and its messaging providers. Promotional texts go only to people who check the optional box on the booking form. That box is never required to book.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except the providers that deliver our messages.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to stop texts, or tell us by phone or email. Reply HELP for help. We honor opt-outs within 10 business days, usually much sooner.
Using this website
We work to keep prices, packages, and availability accurate, but mistakes happen. If a listed price is clearly wrong, we will tell you before any work starts and you can cancel at no cost. Times shown online are requests until we confirm.
Please do not misuse the site: no automated scraping, spam, false bookings, or attempts to get around its security. Photos, video, and text on this site belong to Rotes & Roses and may not be reused without permission.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent California law allows, the total liability of Rotes & Roses for any claim arising from our services or this website will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost wages, rental car costs, loss of use, or reduced resale value.
This limit does not apply to physical damage we cause to your vehicle during a service, which is handled under Damage we cause. It also does not apply to injury to a person, to our gross negligence, willful misconduct, or fraud, or to any liability that California law does not allow us to limit.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Rotes & Roses harmless, meaning you will cover our reasonable costs, including attorney fees, for claims brought against us by someone else that arise from:
False information you gave us, such as booking work on a vehicle you did not have permission to have serviced
Your breach of these terms
Your use of our services or this website to break the law
Conditions at the service location that you control and did not tell us about, such as HOA rules, runoff restrictions, or hazards on the property
This does not apply to claims caused by our own negligence or misconduct.
Disputes and governing law
California law governs these terms and any dispute between us, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
If something goes wrong, contact us first. Before either of us files a claim, we agree to send the other a written description of the problem (email is fine) and allow 30 days to work it out, unless the law gives you the right to file sooner.
Any dispute that is not resolved will be heard only in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California, and both of us agree to those courts’ jurisdiction. Either of us may bring a qualifying claim in San Diego County small claims court.
Your rights under California law
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under California law that cannot be waived, including under the Consumers Legal Remedies Act and the California Consumer Privacy Act. We will never penalize you for leaving an honest review.
Changes and the rest of the fine print
We may update these terms. The version posted on the date you book applies to that booking. If a court finds any part of these terms unenforceable, that part is limited to the minimum extent needed and the rest stays in effect. These terms, together with any written quote or invoice for your job, are the full agreement between us about the service. If a quote or invoice says something different, the quote or invoice controls for that job.
Book online or reach out if you have a question about deposits or scheduling before you request a time. Deposit, cancel, and pricing rules are also summarized on the FAQ.
